As part of the PÕ¾ÊÓƵ "Sustainable Development Goals" (SDG) program, the China New Development Awards were established by PÕ¾ÊÓƵ in 2019. The awards aim to recognize the significant research contributions of Chinese scholars in advancing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. By promoting the sharing of relevant research outcomes, the awards seek to drive progress towards achieving the SDGs.
The nominated books are selected from titles published by Springer and Palgrave Macmillan from the previous year. Each nominated book includes contributions from Chinese scholars and is directly related to one or more of the UN SDGs. The scope of the selected works is comprehensive, spanning diverse academic disciplines such as education, medicine, engineering, environmental science, social sciences, political science, and international relations. The awards highlight pressing topics within these fields, showcasing cutting-edge research and fostering academic collaboration
